Welcome families, friends, and Class of 2017!

You are cordially invited to Iowa State University's Spring Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies! The following is a list of things to help your day go more smoothly.

The Spring 2017 Graduate Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 4 at 7:30 in Hilton Coliseum

The Spring 2017 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. in Jack Trice Stadium.

UNDERGRADUATE CEREMONY INFORMATION
Ceremony Line-Up Instructions for Undergraduate Candidates

  • Gates open to Jack Trice approximately two hours prior to the ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
  • Stadium Chairs: You are more than welcome to bring stadium chairs/ bleacher seats to the stadium.  Most of the seats in Jack Trice Stadium are without seatbacks.
  • Entrance: Use Gate 3 (south side) or Gate 5 (northwest side).
  • Bag check: Please note, bags will be checked before entering the stadium.
  • Public parking is available near the stadium. Parking attendants will direct you to the proper location.
  • Arrive early to find seats and decide on a meeting place for after the ceremony.  Everyone will be dismissed immediately after the ceremony.
  • Seating will be on the south side of the stadium.
  • Concessions: Concessions will be available for sale
  • A live Twitter feed will take place before and after the undergraduate commencement ceremony. Include #cyclONEgrad in your tweets and they may appear on the big screen at Hilton. A tagboard has also been set up at: https://tagboard.com/cyclonegrad
  • Photography: photos can be taken from your seat during the ceremony. In addition, Flash Photography staff will take two close-up pictures: one before you walk onstage and another as you receive a diploma cover from either the provost or the president. Graduates will receive instructions via email from the photographer on how to view and purchase photos online soon after commencement.
  • Closed captioning will be provided during the ceremony on one of the large video screens.
  •  Optional Indoor Viewing: Available in Stephens Auditorium where a livestream video of the ceremony will be shown.
  • Handicapped parking: Parking is located in lot S3 on the SE side of Jack Trice Stadium. You will need a permit or special parking pass.
  • Special Accommodations seating will be available. We are no longer taking reservations for special accomodations, but anyone needing accommodations will need to talk with an usher on the day of the ceremony.

GRADUATE CEREMONY INFORMATION

  • Leave purses, and other personal items with friends and family during the ceremony.
  • Closed captioning will be provided during the ceremony.
  • Photography: photos can be taken from your seat during the ceremony. Graduates will receive instructions via email from the photographer on how to view and purchase photos online soon after commencement.
